Chad J. Cochran takes pride in providing quality service to clients through civil litigation and business dealings. Chad has represented a wide array of businesses and individuals including a technology company during complex Superior Court trial proceedings; a state employee during administrative hearings involving improper hiring practices; and a construction company during adversary proceedings in bankruptcy court.

During his six years at the firm, Chad interacted with numerous North Carolina businesses including construction suppliers, software designers, and medical service providers. Prior to private practice, Chad worked in Washington, DC, as part of a Tax Law Fellowship with the Internal Revenue Service.

Chad holds roots in Knoxville, Tennessee, earning two degrees from the University of Tennessee.  While obtaining his law degree, he received numerous academic recognitions and earned a Best Oralist Award at the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. He clerked for several civil law firms during law school and participated in environmental litigation one summer in Juneau, Alaska.  Chad also holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science.

Chad is active in the community, volunteering on numerous boards and committees.  He recently served as the Board President of International Focus, Inc., the non-profit that hosts the annual International Festival of Raleigh.  Chad is also an active volunteer with the International Bluegrass Music Association.

Chad is married to Raleigh native Lauren Marchman Cochran. Together, they have visited several continents and embarked on many adventures including thru-hikes of the entire Appalachian Trail (Georgia to Maine) and Pacific Crest Trail (Mexico to Canada).
