Nan E. Hannah

Nan E. Hannah, a native of Greensboro, North Carolina, brings a diverse, people-focused background to the practice of law. She has developed expertise in construction law, creditor’s bankruptcy rights, contract negotiation and review, and appellate advocacy since beginning her law career in 1993.

“Client education is a major focus of the lawyers at Hannah Sheridan.” Prior to working at HSLC, Nan spent more than 15 years at Vann & Sheridan, LLP which concentrated in business law. She also worked for Smith & Holmes, a firm focused on insurance defense. Before entering private practice, Nan served for two years as a research assistant for Justice John Webb at the North Carolina Supreme Court, gaining experience in a broad spectrum of legal issues and in the appellate process. Nan is a certified mediator in the North Carolina Dispute Resolution Commission’s Superior Court Mediation Program.

Before attending law school at Washington and Lee University, Nan spent seven of eight years teaching high-school social studies, while coaching basketball and track and field  at Taylor High School in Katy, Texas, then at James B. Hunt High School in Wilson, North Carolina. In 1989, Nan was named girls’ basketball co-coach of the year for the Big East 3-A Conference.
